11 peacocks die in sweltering heat in Tharparkar

THARPARKAR (92 News) - As many as 11 peacocks died in the sweltering heat in Tharparkar on Wednesday.

According to Wildlife authorities, about 50 peacocks have died during the heat spell this year. The peacocks have been killed in the rural areas of Mithi, Islamakot and Chachro.

The Wildlife officials said that 21 peacocks were brought to Mithi Poultry Centre for treatment. “Of them, 11 were killed while the remaining peacocks were saved,” they added.
