ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Irfan Qadir has said that the £190 million case is a mega corruption scandal in the history of the country.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that this amount was owned by the state, but was given to some particular people.

He said that the former government had told a lie to UK's National Crime Agency (NCA). "The UK government would have not given the amount if it knew that it would be returned to the person from whom it was received," he added.

Irfan Qadir said that ambiguous language was used to present it on the agenda of the cabinet. "It should also be investigated that why the Supreme Court did not review it," he added.

He declared that zero tolerance will be adopted towards the looters of the national wealth. "We do not want to involve innocent people in the case," he added.

He said that the NAB will investigate the ministers who had approved the Al-Qadir University. "The NAB is an independent institution and its process should be expedited," he maintained.
