Al-Azizia reference: NAB issued notice till tomorrow over Sharif's plea

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) till tomorrow (on Tuesday) over former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's plea A two-member bench comprising Justice Athar Manullah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani conducted hearing over Nawaz Sharif’s petition against alleged alteration in prosecution’s witness Wajid Zia's, head of Panamagate joint investigation team (JIT), statement in Al-Azizia reference case. The court asked Nawaz Sharif's lawyer Khawaja Haris that "what is your stance about Hussain Nawaz submitted report of Aldar Audit Bureau or not. To reply, Khawaja Harris said that Nawaz and Hussain did not submit the report. The court adjourned the case and issued notice to the NAB till tomorrow. On the other hand, Nawaz was brought from Adiala Jail to the NAB court amid strict security for the hearing hearing of Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investments reference. Judge Court II Muhammad Arshad Malik heard the case. Khawaja Harris maintained that the proceeding of August 30 has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC) following which NAB has been issued notice. Raising the objections, the NAB prosecutor said that the high court did not issue any stay order to halt the hearing of accountability court. On reply, Haris said that if the prosecutor appeared before the high court then the decision would come today. The prosecutor replied that he did not appear anywhere whenever find any notice. To reply, Haris said that "where you want, you appear without any notice." Later, the judge then ruled that the next hearing will be held tomorrow after 12:30pm. Tomorrow, Nawaz Sharif will be presented before court at 12:30.
