Army had no role in arrest of Imran Khan, says Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the Army had no role in the arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan.
Talking to the media oustide the National Assembly on Tuesday, he said that the Rangers had helped the police in the arrest of Imran Khan. "Imran Khan is looking for excuses for instigating the people and carrying out organized attacks," he added.
The minister said that the government had not held consultation with the allies with regard to the ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. "Nawaz Sharif will definitely come to Pakistan," he declared.
He said that the government does not want confrontation with the judiciary. "Under the constitution, no institution can dictate another institution. The judiciary is trying to dictate the parliament that gave birth to the constitution," he added.
Khawaja Asif said that the audio leaks commission was formed keeping in view the principles of justice. "The chief justice stopped the commission from doing the work. In the audio leaks, Najam Saqib, son of former chief justice Saqib Nisar, was found striking the deal of millions of rupees," he maintained.
