Bilquis Edhi – symbol of humanity and service – remembered on 2nd death anniversary

KARACHI (92 News) - Glowing tributes are being paid to Bilquis Bano Edhi – the symbol of humanity and service – on her second death anniversary on Monday.

Following the footsteps of her husband Abdul Sattar Edhi, she had also dedicated her life to humanity. She adopted hundreds of orphan children and became their mother.

The Pakistan government had conferred her with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for her social services. She was also the recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award for her service to humanity.

The Indian government had awarded her Mother Teresa Award for looking after the Indian girl Geeta.
