ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial on Monday remarked that the current temperature is not good for economy and country.

Hearing the ECP's election review petition, he ruled that the court does not want to end anything. "We only want to protect the independence of the judiciary."

He asked the attorney general to which extent is the need for scope of the Article 184(3). The attorney general presented the Supreme Court Review Act in court.

The CJP ordered the attorney general to get directions on the elections reforms act. He observed that the SC had raised important points in the audio leaks commission case. "We will listen to the case in the presence of the second party," he ruled.

CJP Umar Ata Bandial observed that the government had tried to interfere in the administrative matters by making new court domain in the SC Practice and Procedure Act. "The notifications of Memogate, Abbotabad and Saleem Shahzad commissions are before everyone. All the commissions were formed with the consent of the chief justice. All institutions should respect the constitution," he remarked.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
