Dollar gains 52 paisa against rupee in interbank, closes at Rs281.47

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistani rupee on Tuesday witnessed 52-paisa depreciation against US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs281.47 against the previous day’s closing of Rs280.94.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs280.8 and Rs283.3 respectively.

The price of the Euro increased by Rs 2.44 to close at Rs298.84 against the last day’s closing of Rs296.40.

The Japanese Yen remained unchanged and closed at Rs 1.87; whereas an increase of Rs2.01 was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British pound, which traded at Rs341.89 as compared to the last closing of Rs339.82.

The exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi riyal decreased by 14 paisa each to close at Rs76.63 and Rs75.02 respectively.

Meanwhile, 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Market witnessed an increase of 437 points and closed at 51,920 points.

Gold rates up by Rs 900 to Rs 213,000 per tola

The per tola price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs900 and was sold at Rs213,000 compared to its sale at Rs212,100 the previous day of trading.

The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs771 to Rs182,613 from Rs181,842. The price of per tola and ten gram silver remained constant at Rs2,550 and Rs2,186.21 respectively. The price of gold in the international market increased by $3 to $2,015 from $2,012.
