ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided not to print the ballot papers and voters' lists with pictures immediately, jeopardizing the conduct of the election on May 14.

According to sources, the elections in Punjab will be impossible on May 14 if the printing did not start on May 14. The ECP has not yet printed the ballot papers due to unavailability of funds.

The sources said that at least 14 days are needed for printing and transportation of ballot papers. "The ECP needs at least Rs1.5 billion for printing and transportation of ballot papers. It has to print about 700 million ballot papers for the Punjab elections," they added.

The Supreme Court has ordered to conduct the elections of the Punjab Assembly on May 14.
