European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee demands lifting of curfew in IOK

BRUSSELS (92 News) – The European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs on Monday demanded lifting of curfew in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). During an in-camera meeting on Monday, the committee also demanded that India should make arrangements of medicines and food for Kashmiris immediately. The European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs member said that they will directly pressurize India through the United Nations to take steps for restoration of the Kashmiris. Meanwhile, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider called on United Nations representatives and apprised him of the latest situation of Indian Occupied Kashmir. EU Kashmir Council Chairman Ali Raza Syed and other figures were also present. The AJK PM demanded immediate intervention of the United Nations to stop Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. He also demanded steps to end curfew and provide food and medicines to Kashmiris without any delay. He said that a big human tragedy could occur anytime as today is the 29th day of curfew in Occupied Kashmir. The European Parliament members also expressed concern over the worsening situation in IOK. Kashmir will be the agenda in the first session of the European Parliament on Tuesday. During his meetings with members of US Congress’ Foreign Relations Committee, the AJK prime minister had urged them to take up the fast deteriorating human rights situation in Occupied Jammu & Kashmir following the Indian sinister move to change the disputed status of occupied territory. Earlier talking to the journalists, the AJK prime minister hailed the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs’ decision to discuss the prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir. “Kashmir is outstanding issue on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) agenda, which would have to be settled in accordance with its resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people,” he said. “India is committing crimes against humanity which are being widely condemned by the civilized world. The voice of eight million stranded Kashmiris is being heard as the victim of worst Indian atrocities.” The AJK prime minister said that the world was well aware of the fact that rights of people of Kashmir were being ruthlessly usurped by occupied forces in the held valley. Raja Farooq Haider said that the Kashmiris and Pakistanis would stage a huge protest demonstration on Indian Prime Minister Modi’s forthcoming arrival in the US.
