Federal cabinet approves 15% increase in salaries, pensions of govt employees

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The federal cabinet on Friday approved an increase of 15 percent in the salaries and pensions of the government employees.

The government will bear a burden of Rs71.59 billion for increasing the salaries and pensions. Moreover, the cabinet has approved the Finance Bill 2022-23.

In a tweet, Information Minister Marriyum Aurnagzeb said that the prime minister had rejected the Finance Ministry’s proposal of a 10% increase and has approved an increase in government employees’ salaries of 15% with the consent of the cabinet.

"Also merging of adhoc allowances into the basic pay was approved," she added.
