Former President Arif Alvi supports PTI founder’s tweet about 1971

KARACHI (92 News) - Former President Arif Alvi on Saturday supported PTI founder’s tweet about 1971, saying whether it is treason to advise someone to go through the Hamoodur Rehman Commission report.

Addressing the lawyers’ convention on Saturday, he said that they had made an idea in their mind and a person is declared traitor on its basis.

“An FIR is registered against the person who goes through the Hamoodur Rehman Commission report. Sometime you get May 9 to play with and sometime you get the Hamoodur Rehman Commission report. The late premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto concealed the Hamoodur Rehman Commission report. The PDM government is also concealing it. All stakeholders should be brought at one table,” he added.

The former president said that the matter could not be resolved without dialogues. “Don’t destroy the country if the matter is only related to an apology. If something wrong has occurred, you should move ahead by ignoring it,” he maintained.

He appealed to the leadership to focus on possibilities to find out a solution to the issue. “Economy cannot improve without people’s mandate,” he added.
