Four labourers killed in Dakki coal mine blast

DAKKI, Balochistan (92 News) – Four labourers, including two brothers, were killed in blast in a coalmine in Chamlang area, Dakki on Wednesday. The blast occurred due to filling of poisonous gas in the coalmine. Four coalminers died on the spot, while another was injured. The bodies and injured have been shifted to hospital. All the victims belong to a family. The chief miner inspector said that a major portion of the mine collapsed due to fog. Efforts are going on to clean the mine. Coalminers said that about 60 people were working in the mine when the blast occurred. They said that they had to face difficulties in the wake of an emergency due to unavailability of hospital in the area. The incident is the fourth one in the Chalmang area in just 15 days. In total, 10 labourers have been killed and nine others injured in the coalmine accidents. Meanwhile, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed grief over the death of four coal miners. He said that deaths are occurring daily due to negligence of the administration. “The government is no step to check the deaths of coal mines,” he added. He demanded compensation for the victim families.
