Hajj 2024: Pilgrims perform Rukn-e-Azam – Waqoof-e-Arafa

MAKKAH (92 News) - About 1.5 million intending pilgrims from across the world performed the Rukn-e-Azam of Hajj – Waqoof-e-Arafa at Maidan-e-Arafat on Saturday. 

The pilgrims remained in the tent valley of Mina last night. The pilgrims listened to the Hajj sermon at Masjid-e-Nimrah with translation in 50 languages. Imam and Khateeb Sheikh Dr Maher Bin Hamad will deliver the sermon. The pilgrims offered the Zohar and Asr prayers together.

In the Hajj sermon at Nimrah Mosque, Sheikh Dr Maher Bin Hamad said that the basis of Islam goodness and welfare.

“Avoid mistrust, mischief and ‘haram’ (forbidden things) and connect yourself with each other. The Holy Quran says that whoever does injustice will be held accountable. Do not kill anyone unjustly. Sovereignty and true rule belong to Allah Almighty. Today there is a need to follow the pious life of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). If there is a difference, go to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. Remember the Palestinians in your prayers,” he urged.

After staying in Arafat till sunset, the pilgrims will travel to Muzdalifa and spend the night in the open sky there. They will collect pebbles that will be used in the symbolic stoning of pillars representing the devil in Mina.

After offering the Fajr prayers on Sunday, the pilgrims will leave for Jamrat. After performing ‘Rami’, they will offer a sacrifice and open their ‘Ihram’.
