Hamza Shehbaz likely to be arrested on April 17: Shahzad Akbar
LAHORE (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said on Monday that Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly will likely to be arrested on April 17 after cancellation of his interim bail.
Expressing his views, during an exclusive interview with 92 News programme “Ho Kya Raha hai”, Shahzad Akbar hoped that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will select the best prosecutor in case against Shehbaz Sharif family and Hamza Shehbaz.
The special assistant to PM once again criticized the Lahore High Court’s decision of granting pre-arrest bail to Hamza Shebaz.
Shahzad Akbar said that Hamza Shehbaz got a unusual relief from the court. “The laws of corruption watchdog body are liable for everyone so the pre-arrest bail cannot be granted for such a long period,” he added.
Hamza Shehbaz granted interim bail in two cases till April 17
Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz interim bail in the Ramazan Sugar Mills and Saaf Pani cases.
Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed also ordered him to furnish two surety bonds worth Rs 10 million each.
During the hearing, the judge expressed anger over presence of irrelevant lawyers in court and remarked that he had warned that court etiquettes should be followed. “Political workers take selfies in court and how will look into the matter.
Hamza Shehbaz assured the court that he would be cautious in future.
His counsel stated that his client fears arrest despite the Ramazan Sugar Mills reference had been filed. “The NAB also wants to arrest Hamza Shehbaz unjustifiable in the Saaf Panic case,” he said.
He requested the court to grant Hamza Shehbaz bail in both cases. Stringent security arrangements had been made on the arrival of Hamza Shahbaz.
