Heavy rain lashes Lahore, other cities of Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – Heavy rain in Lahore including several cities of Punjab on Thursday morning turned weather pleasant. The downpour was experienced in Punjab’s cities including, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Jehlum and other areas, which had dropped down the mercury. Besides Punjab, the rain also observed in many other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi. The light rain turned weather pleasant in several areas of Karachi including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan Johar, Tariq Road, Bahadarbad, Baloch Colony and Malir. However the low lying areas of the aforesaid areas submerged into rain water. The MET office has predicted dust-thundershower/rain accompanied by gusty winds at scattered places in Hazara, Gujranwala divisions, Kashmir, while at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sargodha, Lahore, Malakand, Kohat divisions during the next twelve hours. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country. Minimum temperature of some major cities recorded on Thursday morning: Islamabad twenty-four degree centigrade, Quetta twenty-three, Lahore thirty-nine, Peshawar twenty-eight, Karachi thirty, Gilgit nineteen, Murree sixteen, Muzaffarabad twenty degree centigrade. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuEKoCcb0Bg On the other hand, rain related incident reported as at least 10 people were killed and 34 injured when a passenger bus turned turtle due to over speeding on the motorway at Brhama interchange near Hassan Abdaal on Thursday. According to the reports, ten people including seven men and three women were killed when a passenger bus slipped due to over speeding. The bus was on its way to Lahore from Swat. The injured have been shifted to hospitals of Hassan Abdal, Texila and Wah Cantt. The local police reported that the accident occurred due to the slippery road.
