How can freedom of judiciary be linked to powers of chief justice? remarks CJP

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Hearing the SC Practice and Procedure Act, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa questioned that how the freed of judiciary can be linked to the powers of the chief justice.

He remarked that the SC was authorized to make the practice and procedure rules. "There should be someone to remind the SC to be in domain of the constitution if it makes the laws beyond rules," he observed.

Imtiaz Siddique had an exchange of hot words with the CJP when he was not given the time again. The CJP ruled that it was written in the hearing of the previous hearing that the arguments of Imtiaz Siddiqui had been concluded.

Justice Ejazul Ahsan remarked that the parliament can neither make the rules for the SC nor do legislation for it. "Only the SC has the power to amend the laws within the ambit of the law."

Justice Muneeb Akhtar said three people can also affect the results if a person can affect it. "The question is whether the clauses of the constitution be changed without the constitutional amendment?" he questioned.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing till Tuesday.
