ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the parliament formulates the law and other institutions interpret it.

Expressing his views on the floor of the National Assembly on Tuesday, he said that democracy would weaken if an institution crossed its constitutional limit.

“The parliament has the power which other institutions do not possess. Democracy in any form is better than dictatorship. We should strengthen the House through our decisions instead of weakening it,” he added.

PML-N leader Irfan Siddiqui said that the government had no confrontation with the judiciary. “The parliament should stop if the constitution is being violated. There would have been no need to make the amendment if the decision on the reserved seats had been made according to the law and the constitution,” he added.
