Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker CM Azam Khan passes away

PESHAWAR (92 News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan passed away on Saturday.

He has been suffering from cardiac problem since long. On Friday, his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to a private hospital where he breathed his last.

Azam Khan, a retired bureaucrat, belonged to Parang, Charsaddda. He got his degree in Law. He served as secretary of different departments as well as chief secretary. He also served as the caretaker federal minister for interior during the caretaker set-up of 2018.

On January 21, he took the oath as caretaker chief minister. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has been dissolved after his death. All administrative powers have been delegated to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor.

Meanwhile, political and social dignitaries, including Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Sindh Caretaker CM Maqbool Baqir, have expressed grief over the death of Azam Khan.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto and ANP leader Zahid Khan expressed grief over his death and prayed for the departed soul.
