Malaysia interested in buying Pakistani made JF-17 Thunder: Asad Umar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Finance Minister Asad Umar on Friday said that Pakistan and Malaysia have signed five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in various sectors.
Talking to the journalists while briefing media after delegation-level talks between Pakistan and Malaysia at Prime Minister House, the minister said Malaysia has expressed interest in buying meat and rice from Pakistan.
He also said that the Malaysian delegation also showed their interest in buying Pakistani made JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.
The finance minister said Malaysian delegation sought participation of JF-17 Thunder aircraft in a defence fair to be held in that country in the near future.
Asad Umar said both the sides agreed on business and investment worth hundreds of millions of dollars in diverse fields. He also said that both delegations also agreed to open branches of their banks in the two countries.
Finance Minister said in their one-on-0ne meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan briefed Malysian Prime Minister about recent stand-off with India and Pakistan's quest for peace and stability in the region.
Mahathir urges need to find ways to combat Islamophobia
Earlier, Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has urged urged need to find ways to combat Islamophobia, saying that there is fear, hatred and enmity towards Muslims and this is why Christchurch attack took place.
Addressing a joint news conference with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, he said that Pakistan and Malaysia understand the issue of combating Islamophobia.
“Pakistan and Malaysia can also cooperate on this particular issue with the aim to bring improvement in the perception of Muslims and reduce hatred and fear towards Muslims, he explained.
