ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the May 9 tragedy was a rebellion against the state and there will be no leniency towards the accused.

Talking to the media informally at Parliament on Friday, he said that talks cannot be held with the people involved in rebellion against the state.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the PTI founder should remain silent if he wants to reduce the tension. “An attempt is being made to backtrack from the tweet regarding Mujeebur Rehman. It is the first occasion when the PTI has to withdraw from the post,” he added.

Federal Minister Ameer Muqam said that the people involved in May want to create chaos in the country. “The Pak Army has supported the nation in each difficult time,” he added.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan said that the May 9 tragedy was executed on the orders of the PTI founder. “Can personal interests be protected by giving the example of Sheikh Mujeeb? No crime or conspiracy can be bigger than attacking the military installations,” he added.
