LAHORE (92 News) – The Financial Times has claimed that money collected for charity in the UK was transferred to the PTI.

According to the newspaper, Abraaj Group founder Arif Naqvi collected money for the PTI in the name of charity. "T20 matches were played in the UK whose money was transferred to the PTI. Wootton Cricket Ltd was used to send the money to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). A cricket match was played at Arif Naqvi's palatial residence in Oxfordshire which benefiting a political party in Pakistan. A minister from the royal family of Abu Dhabi also gave 2 million pounds," it claimed.

Talking to 92 News, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary said that it is already known to who the funds are to be transferred for any event. “The way of reporting the news of Financial Times is wrong. Whatever written in Financial Times has already been submitted to the Election Commission.”

Earlier, Akbar S Babar had said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) got a funding of US$2.1 million from the Wootton Cricket Limited, Dubai. He had said that the statement of Imran Khan does not have any value. “It is similar to 35 punctures, which was later said to be a political statement. If Imran Khan welcomes the report, then why did he file a petition against it. Recently his counsel has requested the ECP not to make the report public. In the report, foreign bank accounts have been verified,” he maintained.
