My name deliberately included in JIT report, claims Sindh CM
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday claimed that his name was included in the joint investigation team’s (JIT) report deliberately.
Murad Ali Shah appeared before the Rawalpindi National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office at second time in the fake accounts case. He was interrogated by the benami accounts. He also submitted his written reply regarding Thatta, Dadu Sugar Mills in fake accounts case.
Talking to the journalists after visiting the NAB office, the Sindh chief minister said that the NAB investigation session was held in an amicable environment. “I assured the corruption watchdog for all cooperation regarding the investigation,” he added.
Murad Ali Shah said that the chief justice in a hearing on Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report had ordered removal of his and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s names from the exit control list (ECL). “While reading the JIT report it seems my name is added without any reason,” he said.
The chief minister said that what is happening behind (the scene) would fail (in the end). He said the NAB has not summoned him again. He further said that he has invited the NAB officials on a visit to Thar.
Sindh CM appears before NAB, interrogated in fake accounts case
On March 25, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah appeared before the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Rawalpindi in connection with the fake bank accounts case.
A five-member NAB investigation team interrogated the Sindh chief minister. Irfan Naeem Mangi, who is the head of the joint investigation team, recorded his statement.
He was put tough questions regarding the auction of Thatha Sugar Mills and sale of Omni Group at throwaway prices.
Sources said that a questionnaire was also handed him over from the NAB.
Talking to the media after appearing before the NAB, the Sindh CM said that the NAB cases and the JIT report were fake. “We are being subjected to the media trial,” he said.
He said that he had assured all-out cooperation in the investigation of the case.
PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said that all cases had been constituted on the basis of assumptions. “Nawaz Sharif did not support us in amending the NAB laws,” he said.
Nayyar Bukhari said that the federal government was trying to invade Sindh and the plans were being made in the meeting. “But we are not afraid of anyone,” he said.
Before of his appearance before NAB, Murad Ali Shah held a consultative meeting with party leaders at the Sindh House.The NAB had asked him to make an appearance at the NAB Headquarters on March 26.
The FIA is investigating more than 30 people in relation to money laundering from fictitious accounts, including Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur. Zardari’s close aide Hussain Lawai was arrested in July 2018 in connection with the probe.
