NAB denies to arrest Zardari on whims of minister

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has said that former president Asif Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Murad Shah cannot be arrested on the whims of a minister. In his statement on Wednesday, the NAB mentioned that the law will take its course in the fake bank accounts case. However, it said that those named in the case including Asif Zardari, Murad Ali Shah and Faryal Talpur could not be arrested on the desire of others. The anti-graft watchdog said that the bureau has not yet received the copies of the Supreme Court’s verdict into fake bank accounts case. “The law will take its due course in the light of the Apex court orders,” the statement of NAB’s spokesperson read.

NAB to seek statements of information minister

The spokesperson statement said that the NAB has also decided to seek transcription of the statements of a federal minister being run on the various sections of media. “It has summoned interviews and statements of federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry from the PEMRA, to ascertain it does not impact or influence the decisions.” Following the release of the NAB’s notice, Federal Minister for Information took a twitter and gave its response in a poetic way.

Minister demands arrest of Zardari, Faryal & Murad

A day earlier, Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry had demanded arrest of Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and Syed Murad Ali Shah, in light of JIT’s findings into fake bank account cases. He also said, talking to the journalists, beneficiaries of the fake bank accounts are residing in Bilawal House and Chief Minister House of the province. “Everything has been made crystal clear in the JIT report, probing into fake bank account cases,” he said and added the culprits should have been arrested by the NAB.
