RAWALPINDI (92 News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday filed a reference against the PTI chairman and other accused in the £190 million scam.

Eight accused, including Bushra Bibi, Farah Gogi, Shahzad Akbar, have been nominated in the reference. The Registrar Office is examining the reference filed through NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Muzaffar Abbasi and Investigation Office Mian Umar Nadeem.

According to the reference, Shahzad Akbar wrote a misleading note on December 2, 2019, showing the SC Registrar Account as the State of Pakistan Account. It states that the PTI chairman was fully aware of the plan as he had received 458 kanal of land from Malik Riaz.

The Al-Qadir University did not exist when the land was taken. After giving benefit to Malik Riaz, the PTI chairman became the lone beneficiary of £171 million, out of £190 million. In 2019, the land purchased by Malik Riaz was transferred to Zulfi Bukhari, added the reference.
