Nation celebrates 84th Pakistan Day with national spirit, fervour

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The nation celebrated the 84th Pakistan Day with national spirit and fervour across the country.
The main ceremony was held at Parade Ground, Islamabad. President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, renowned personalities and ambassadors from several countries were also present.
Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Frontier Corps, Punjab Rangers, Mujahid Regiment, Artillery Regiment, Balochistan Levies, Pakistan Police, Sindh Police and Pakistan Coast Guard participated in the parade. The flag-bearing contingent saluted the distinguished guests. A special squad of the ladies squad also passed before the guests. The Light Commando Battalion and SSG Commandos entered the ground while chanting slogans of 'Allah-o-Akbar'.
President Asif Zardari reviewed the parade led by Parade Commander Brigadier Shahzad Ali Arshad which followed the fly-past formation of the Pakistan Air Force and the Pakistan Navy. After the PAF fighters’ mesmerizing show, Pakistan Army, PAF and Navy paratroopers demonstrated their skills with free-falls. Meanwhile, the PAF’s aerobatics display team enthralled spectators with their unmatched aerial maneuvers.
Earlier, the day dawned with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute in provincial capitals. Special prayers were offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for progress and prosperity of the country.
