Nawaz’s plea to re-summon IO dismissed in Al-Azizia reference

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The accountability court dismissed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s plea to re-summon the investigation officer for cross-examination on Thursday. The verdict was announced by Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik after hearing the arguments. The NAB prosecutor said that permission to remove legal error cannot be given after cross-examination. The court accepted the plea of the NAB prosecutor. Meanwhile, the Flagship reference against Nawaz Sharif has also entered the final phase. The statement of JIT head Wajid Zia was completed in four days. He also produced the record of transactions made by Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz. He also presented the letters written by Hammad Bin Jasam and Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua. The court gave the deadline to submit the written statement about completing the evidence until Monday. The court also accepted Nawaz Sharif’s plea for exemption from appearance. The case was adjourned until Monday.
