NEPRA increases basic power tariff by Rs4.96 to Rs29.78 per unit

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday increased the basic power tariff by Rs4.96 per unit.
After the increase, the new per unit price has been fixed at Rs29.78 from Rs24.82 per unit.
The NEPRA has sent a letter regarding the increase in the power tariff to the federal government for final approval. The new rates will be applicable after the issuance of the final notice.
Meanwhile, the NEPRA has increased the per unit power rate for the K-Electric consumers by Rs1.44. People have strongly protested against the recent increase.
