New amendments will destroy future of country: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan said during an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail that the new amendments would destroy the future of the country, adding that the purpose of the constitutional amendment bill was to keep him in jail.

He said that the government was establishing the constitutional court because it was afraid of the Supreme Court.

He deplored that the rulers had decided to destroy the judiciary, adding: “All this is being done to hide the election fraud.”

He also flayed that the government was flouting the rule of law, adding that no greater oppression could be inflicted on the country than violating the law.

He said that the rulers wanted to remove the rule of law from the country, adding that they were destroying the democracy in the country.

He alleged that the rulers had saved their billions of rupees by granting themselves pardon through the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendments.

The PTI founder said that threats to judges, abduction of people, and dissolution of political parties would increase political instability in the country.

He further alleged that the money of the people brining the constitutional amendments was out of the county, adding that the people in the government did not want to see the judiciary independent.

He pointed out that the interests of the country and those of the elite were in conflict with each other, adding that the interest of the elite was to hide the election fraud and their money.
