Nine passengers killed in Jhelum van inferno
JHELUM (92 News) – Nine passengers were killed when a van caught fire near Turkey Morr on GT Road on Sunday night.
Rescue 1122 shifted nine injured to hospital. The ill-fated van was going to Rawalpindi from Gujranwala.
Two passengers were miraculously remained unhurt.
Jhelum Deputy Commissioner Saif Anwar said that the van caught fire after an explosion due to a collision with a trailer.
He said that emergency had been declared in all hospitals after the accident. “The van has been reduced to ashes.
A majority of deceased and injured belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In another accident, 20 people were injured in a collision between a bus and trailer. The bus was heading to Charsadda from Karachi.
