Omar Ayub says election of president is illegal, unconstitutional

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan has said that the election of president is unconstitutional and illegal because the electoral college is incomplete still.

Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that the election should have been postponed until the decision on the reserved seats. "We will vote for Mahmood Achakzai. We had challenged the nomination papers of PM Shehbaz Sharif," je added. To a question, he said that President Arif Alvi did no illegal act and they salute his services.

Barrister Gohar Ali said that it was violation of the constitution to assume the offices by adopting unconstitutional method. "Two families have already occupied the country and now they have occupied the institutions as well," he maintained.

Senator Faisal Javed said that a half of the voters are ineligible in today's election. Latif Khosa said that democracy was being murdered today. "The rejected people are jointly looting the mandate of the people," he added.

Meanwhile, Omar Ayub Khan of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has been appointed as the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly.

Earlier, Malik Amir Dogar had submitted the name of the opposition leader in the office of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
