Opp walks out of NA session for non-issuance of Saad’s production orders

ISLAMABAD (92 News) –The opposition in the National Assembly (NA) staged a walkout on Monday in protest over the non-issuance of production orders of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique. It was identified that the quorum was present during the walk out of the PML-N. Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi requested from the opposition parties to participate in the proceedings of the lower house. He asked to attend NA session, saying that come to join because the quorum is present today. It was also reported that NA speaker will announce to decide about the issuance of production orders for Khawaja Saad Rafique shortly. Earlier today, former premier Nawaz Sharif and Opposition Leader in NA Shahbaz Sharif chaired a high level session at the Parliament House. During the meeting, the PML-N lawmakers decided they would continue their protest in NA session against the non-issuance of production orders for detained MNA Khawaja Saad Rafique. The party decided against being a part of standing committee on environment and climate change while consultation will be held with the opposition regarding other committees. It was also decided that a mass-contact campaign will be started by the PML-N leaders from December 30. Advice will also be sought regarding convention on party’s foundation day. The party decided immediate reorganizing and filling the vacate positions. Iqbal will present a report to the party head after three days in this regard. It is pertinent to mention here that Saad and his brother were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) in connection with the Paragon Housing Society scam. The PML-N leader and his brother were arrested after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected their request for an extension in their pre-arrest bail in the case pertaining to the housing society scam.
