Option of review on SC verdict exists, decision will be made with consultation: Dost Mazari

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Assembly Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari has said that there exists the option of filing a review petition on the verdict of the Supreme Court in the ruling case; however, the decision in this regard will be made with consultation.

Expressing his views in 92 News' Programme 'Ho Kaya Raha Hai' on Wednesday, he said that he had informed the House before the election for the chief minister that there should be no floor-crossing.

"I consulted the lawyers after getting the letter of PML-Q president Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain. I gave the ruling with honesty and after deliberation," he added.

Mazari said that no deputy speaker had appeared in court in the history. "The demand for the full court was aimed at getting any unanimous decision," he argued.

He said that the Supreme Court had power to nullify his ruling.
