ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has said that the Pak Army can fight against terrorists, but nation's cooperation is mandatory against terrorism.

Addressing the Pakistan National Youth Council at Jinnah Convention Centre on Wednesday, he said that he was immensely pleased by addressing the Iqbal's Shaheens. "The objective of creating Pakistan was that our religion, culture and civilization are different from the Hindus in all respects. We should not adopt the western culture and civilization. The youth should have full confidence in themselves as well as in their homeland, nation, culture and civilization," he urged.

The COAS said that the youth should be sure that they are the scions of a great homeland and nation. "The youth are the guardians of the bright traditions of the nation and country, and the interpretation of the dreams of the Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal," he added.

General Asim Munir said that the purpose of social media and propaganda is to spread uncertainty, chaos and despair. "A research on the social media news is very important. The society remains confused without research and positive thinking," he stressed.

The COAS was of the view that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with ample mineral resources, agriculture and young manpower. "A Muslim expresses patience in hardship and thanks Allah Almighty in ease," he added.

He reiterated that the armed forces are always ready against all kinds of threats and conspiracies. "If there is Pakistan, then we are. If there is no Pakistan, we are nothing. Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty. The establishment of Pakistan is akin to the State of Tayyaba as both were established on the basis of the Kalma."

The COAS urged the youth to have full faith in the bright future of Pakistan and strive to uphold the legacy of their ancestors. During the speech, students chanted the slogans – 'Long Live Pakistan Army', 'Long Live Pakistan' and ' Long Live Quaid-e-Azam'.
