Pak Army continues relief operation in flood-hit areas across country

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – - The Pakistan Army relief efforts continued in flood-hit areas of various districts of the country.

 

Balochistan: In Othal, 2,300 individuals of four villages have been evacuated to safer places. Shelter and cooked meals provided to affected population.

N-25 connecting Quetta - Karachi has been opened for traffic which was blocked at four different places due to collapse of bridges.

Telecommunication restored in most of Balochistan particularly in District Lasbela in coordination with the PTA.

467 % additional unprecedented rains from Jul 1 till date. 29 districts of Balochistan have been affected due to recent rains/ flash floods particularly Lasbela, Kech, Quetta, Sibbi, Khuzdar and Kohlu.  3953 houses have been damaged. 

Five medical camps established in flood-hit areas of Balochistan including Hub, Gaddani, Bela and Duddar and Jhal Magsi and

Gawadar.

The Army dewatering teams have cleared Gawadar area.

Costal highway blocked at Aghore has been opened for traffic.

Jhal Magsi: Four sorties of Army aviation helicopters operated delivering 1.3 tons of relief items including rations and medicines.

No rain in the area and water level considerably receded.

Connectivity of Gandhawa has resumed with Jhal Magsi, efforts underway to resume connectivity on other two roads. 200 individuals evacuated.

KHUZDAR:

Water level still high in Mula River. Work on connectivity of M-8 will be resumed by NHA after water recedes

General Officer Commanding at Khuzdar visited Bela and surroundings to oversee relief efforts.

Chaman

Babe Dosti has been opened by dewatering teams as it remained closed due to inundation.

Lasbella: Telecom resumed.

Relief operation by Army, FC and Pakistan Cost Guard underway.

All four locations on RCD opened for lttfc only.

Zhob

Mobile Field Medical Camp established by FC and Civil administration in Zhob . 1570 patients treated.

Kila Saifullah:

Flash flooding occurred in Kila Saifullah.

Ziarat

Road Quetta -Ziarat blocked near KawasTangi Station due to heavy flooding has been opened.

Quetta:

Floods reported in Hanna and NawaKili. Rescue and relief teams are working on site.

Sindh

58 dewatering teams were employed for dewatering in Karachi only.

Gharo Grid Station at Thatta which was flooded with water has been cleared by Army dewatering teams.

300 individuals have been evacuated in Jamshoro.

Army established relief camp At Jamshoro.

M-9 was flooded at various places due to overflow of Lath Dam. Dewatering teams along with heavy machinery were employed to clear the road.

Ration and medicine being provided to local people at Dadu and Khairpur.

GB

KKH and Jaglot- Skardu road have been kept open by FWO clearing multiple landslides.

DisttGhizer was cut off due to flash flooding. Communication infrastructure opened. Food and medicines were provided to local residents

KP

Distt Tank, Chitral and swabi were badly affected due to rains.

Road Chitral- Mastooj and Road Tank- GomalZam Dam opened for traffic.

Pakistan Army, Navy and FC/ Rangers troops are constantly assisting the civil administration and local communities in all flood-affected areas.
