Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem qualifies for Olympic javelin throw finals

PARIS (92 News) - Pakistan’s star athlete Arshad Nadeem on Tuesday qualified for the javelin throw finals with a throw of 86.59 metres in his first attempt in the qualifying round of the Paris Olympics 2024.

India’s Neeraj Chopra also qualified for the medal round with a throw of 89.34 metres. The final of the javelin throw will be played on August 8.

Arshad Nadeem rose to fanme when he finished fifth in the Tokyo Olympics. He ended fifth in the World Championship as well. But soon afterwards, he made the history when in the Commonwealth Games he claimed the gold medal with a huge throw of 90.18m at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham (United Kingdom). That feat also saw him becoming the first South Asian to cross the 90m mark.
