PBC, SCBA support SC verdict on PTI's election symbol case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) have supported the verdict announced by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on the PTI election symbol of 'bat'.

Addressing a joint press conference on Tuesday, SCBA president Shahzad Shaukat and PBC vice-president Haroonur Rasheed said that there was no fault in the SC judgment. "The PTI held the so-called intra-party elections in a village.

Haroonur Rasheed said that the forces who brought the PTI sent it back as well. "The PTI chairman was sent home through the no-confidence motion. Lawyers should not pass the remarks aiming at insulting the judges," he maintained.

He said that the PTI caused a loss to democracy when it resigned from the assemblies.
