PM briefs on up-gradation of Main Line-1 of Pakistan Railway

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan chaired a briefing in Islamabad today on upgradation of Main Line-1 of Pakistan Railway. A high level meeting was held under the chair of PM Imran Khan. During the meeting, the prime minister expressed hope to make Railway system as per international standard. Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusru Bakhtiar, Secretary Railways, DG Frontier Works Organization and senior officials attended the briefing. The prime minister was briefed on the progress of ML-1 project. Earlier today, a fire erupted in a bathroom on the third floor of PM Secretariat Islamabad was put out through immediate response. Speaking to the journalists, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Media Affairs Yousaf Baig Mirza said no loss or damage has been reported. He said the cause of the fire is being ascertained. According to the Prime Minister office, the fire probably was triggered by the short circuit. However, no person got injured in the incident. All documents also remained safe. All PM House staff members remained safe during the fire, the spokesperson stated. The PM Office was evacuated following the incident. Prime Minister Imran Khan was holding a meeting inside the building when the fire erupted.
Money laundering would be eradicated if Hudaibiya decided on merit: PM
A day earlier, PM Imran Khan said money laundering would have been eradicated from the country if Hudaibiya case was decided on merit. The prime minister stated while talking to Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, who called on him in Islamabad. During the meeting, both the leaders discussed matters pertaining to political situation. The premier also termed that the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) given to Sharif family by the then former president Pervez Musharaf affected the decision. “The money laundering would be eliminated from Pakistan if Musharraf hadn’t given an NRO to Sharif family,” PM Khan said. He also said that unfortunately NRO in Hudaibiya case was used as model in other cases of money laundering. “Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari used the same model,” he added. He directed the information minister to share these details with public through media and expose those who are misleading nation. Imran Khan said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has made new rules.
