ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that there were difficulties when we assumed power; however, today the situation is better.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that the prices of daily-use items will reduce in the coming days. "Imran Khan is making the relief aid for flood victims controversial after making the institutions contentious," he added.

Khawaja Asif said that the PTI chairman could put the national security at stake or the sake of the power and action should be taken against him as per law. "PM Shehbaz Sharif will appoint the new army chief in November," he added.

He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would visit China in the first week of November on the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. He said that the prime minister’s visit to Uzbekistan was successful. "Pakistan was assured of full cooperation in the meetings. Chinese and Russian presidents invited the prime minister to visit their country. The date for the visit to Russia will be announced later. The Chinese president recognized PM Shehbaz Sharif as an efficient and pragmatic leader, and expressed the commitment to vigorously take forward the CPEC project. Xi Jinping described Pakistan as an all-weather strategic friend,” he added.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the Russian president, during his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, appreciated Pakistan's position on Ukraine. "Russia has shown willingness to export wheat and gas to Pakistan. The SCO members have expressed readiness to support and cooperate with Pakistan faced with the unprecedented floods,” he concluded.
