PM Shehbaz Sharif visits calamity-hit Gwadar, assures affectees of resolving problems

GWADAR (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the calamity-hit Gwadar on Tuesday.

Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti was also accompanying him. The prime minister also interacted with the affectees. He also inquired about the problems being faced by the affectees and assured them of resolving their problems on the spot.

He also distributed the relief items among the affectees. Talking to the media, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the people had been made homeless in Gwadar and they could not sit in Islamabad. "The government fully apprehends the problems being faced by the people," he added. He directed the authorities to utilize all-out resources for the rehabilitation of the affectees. 

The prime minister announced a relief package for people of the rain-hit areas of Balochistan. He said that an amount of Rs2 million will be given to each for the families of the deceased, Rs 500,000 for the injured, and Rs 750,000 for those whose houses were completely damaged.

He said that the government would give Rs350,000 compensation to the families whose houses were partially damaged in the rains.

Earlier, NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik briefed the prime minister about the relief activities being carried out in Gwadar and Southern Balochistan.

The prime minister directed the NDMA chief to introduce a modern system to determine calamities before their occurrence through satellite and modern technology.
