Funeral prayers for Begum Kulsoom Nawaz offered in London

LAHORE (92 News) – Funeral prayers for Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, were offered in London’s Regent Park Mosque on Thursday. Sheikh Khalifa led the funeral prayers. PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif, Ch Nisar, Ishaq Dar, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz participated in the funeral. Later, the body was shifted to Heathrow Airport. In Lahore, her funeral prayers will be offered at Sharif Medical City at 5pm. Maulana Tariq Jamil will lead the funeral. Kulsoom’s daughter Asma, brother-in-law Shehbaz Sharif and multiple Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaders will accompany the body to Lahore where it will be laid to rest. Kulsoom will be laid to rest the same day beside the grave of her father-in-law Mian Sharif in Jati Umra. On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif, who released on parole, visited Sharif Medical City in Jati Umra and reviewed the funeral preparations of her wife Begum Kulsoom. He termed the arrangements satisfactory and returned to his residence in Jati Umra. Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif reached in London on Wednesday night to take back Kulsoom’s body in Pakistan.
