Promises made with Balochistan people to be fulfilled: Pervez Khattak

ISLAMABAD (92News) – Federal Defence Minister Pervez Khattak Thursday said the central government would fulfill the promises made with the Balochistan’s people. He said small dams will be constructed to meet growing water shortage in the province. Addressing a joint press conference with BNP-M chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal outside the Parliament, he said an important meeting would soon take place to implement six points of joint agreement held between BNP-M and the PTI government last year. He said the names of two dams had been included in the PSDP of the federal government. BNP-M chief Akhtar Mengal speaking to reporters said the misunderstandings occurred between the federation and the party over non-implementation of agreement on six points. He suggested the government to constitute of committee of local politicians and parliamentarians who would find problems of Balochistan’s people and submit recommendations to the National Assembly. Mengal said the party would accept the decision of the parliament in the light of recommendations. He hoped the political solution to the problems of Balochistan would be sorted out between the two sides. On Wednesday, Mengal skipped the all parties conference (APC) of the opposition parties despite invitation by Mualana Fazalur Rehman. At the time the APC was in progress, the BNP leader met with Prime Minister Imran Khan who assured to resolve the concerns of the party about Balochistan.
