PTI founder, Bushra Bibi indicted in Toshakhana reference, both plead not guilty

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir framed charges against the PTI founder and his wife in the Toshakhana reference on Tuesday.

The hearing was conducted in Adiala jail. The judge read out the indictment. However, both accused pleaded not guilty. The court summoned 12 witnesses on the next date.

The court will indict the PTI former chairman and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million scam case on January 17. It also distributed the copies of the challan among the accused.

Moreover, the court also rejected the bail pleas of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in both cases.

According to the charge-sheet in Toshakhana case, the PTI founder received 108 gifts from different state heads. The accused kept 58 gifts, out of 108, with them.

The PTI founder kept the jewellery seat received from the Saudi crown prince in exchange for the lowest price. The jewellery seat was reported in the Toshakhana, but it was not deposited into the Toshakhana. According to the charges, the accused valued the gifts at the lowest rate. The accused face the charge of causing a loss of Rs1,573 million to the national exchequer.
