PTI president Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi arrested from Lahore

LAHORE (92 News) - The police arrested PTI president Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi from near his residence in Lahore on Thursday.

Iqbal Chaudhary, spokesperson for Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi, said that the PTI president was going with family women when the police arrested him on Zahoor Elahi Road.

He said that the policemen had taken away Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi to an unknown place.

Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir said that the Anti-Corruption Establishment had arrested Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi in the alleged Rs2 billion corruption case. He said that Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi was trying to flee when the ACE arrested him.

The ACE spokesperson said that Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi was wanted in different cases. "An ACE court had cancelled the bail of Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi a few days back. Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi had presented a fake medical certificate. The ACE had been trying to arrest him for the last few days. The ACE team had arrested him when he was trying to flee," he added.
