PTI secretary general Asad Umar arrested from outside IHC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Anti-Terrorism squad arrested on reaching the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday.

After his arrest, the police took away the PTI leader to the police station. He has been arrested under the 16 MPO for violating the section 144 of the constitution.

However, PTI workers and lawyers foiled an attempt by the police to arrest Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Talking to the media before his arrest, PTI leader Asad Umar said that Imran Khan has been arrested malafide. "Imran Khan was neither served a notice nor he was summoned," he added.

He said that they will use their constitutional right for the peaceful protest. "Shah Mahmood Qureshi will run the party matters. The future strategy will be devised keeping in view the situation and the facts," he maintained.

The PTI leader, however, dissociated himself from the arson and sabotage.
