PTV attack case: ATC issues non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleem Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Aleem Khan in the PTV and Parliament attack case. ATC Judge Raja Jawad Abbas heard the case against Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Dr Arif Alvi and other PTI leaders in parliament attack case. The court issued the arrest warrants on the persistent absence of the PTI leader from court proceedings despite several appeals made by the authorities in this regard. The court directed law enforcement to arrest and produce Aleem Khan in court by September 30, according to an order issued by the anti-terror judge overseeing the proceedings. Earlier, Aleem Khan was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail after the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted him. A large number of PTI workers gathered outside the Kot Lakhpat Jail to receive their leader came after the court orders were presented to the jail administration and Aleem Khan was allowed to go. The PTI workers and leaders warmly welcomed Aleem Khan when he came outside from the jail. Charged party workers surrounded it and started showering petals to celebrate the release of their leader. The workers raised slogans in favour of Aleem Khan Aleem Khan responded by waving to the supporters and left for their house in form of rally. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Senior Punjab Minister Aleem Khan for owning assets beyond his known sources of income. The PTI leader was taken into custody as he appeared before NAB Lahore. The Punjab local government minister was being investigated by NAB in cases pertaining to owning assets beyond his known sources of income and an offshore company.
