LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Minister for Information Syed Sumsam Bukhari said on Tuesday that the Punjab government is not a party in arrest of Pakistan Muslim league-N (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz. Speaking to the journalists, the minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not extracting revenge against anyone; the opposition leader in Punjab Assembly was arrested after rejection his interim bail in the court. Slamming the opposition parties, he asserted that the PML-N and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) are same from the inside. “Everyone should respect the decision of the court while opposition is trying to hide their corruption,” he expressed. He further said that the references alleged on PML-N are not new and court is punishing them, not PTI. Samsam Bukhari said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will do whatever the court says. “NAB is an independent body which sent its reference after the investigation,” he added. He said that the government will not interfere in any arrest made by the NAB. Provincial minister expressed that issuance of production order is the choice of the speaker. “Protest is a democratic right”, he added. “If today the cases against Zardari are wrong why he was put behind the bars twice in the tenure of the PML-N,” the minister said. Earlier, Samsam Bukhari on Sunday said that the ‘titanic of corruption’ ‘will be drowned soon as the persons who looted national treasury would face its consequences for their wrongdoings. In his statement, the provincial information minister said, “Every citizen has a basic right to get corruption-free society. Prime Minister Imran Khan is putting the country on the right track.” Samsam Bukhari said there are no allegations of corruption on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government, and the opposition’s outcry is just to divert attention from real issues. “We shall neither commit any illegal act, now shall we allow anyone to do so. Titanic of corruption is moving towards its end and affirmed that those who looted the country will have to suffer consequences,” he pronounced. The minister further mentioned that the problems that Pakistan is currently facing are due to the incompetence of previous governments. Things will soon improve after the difficult time.
