ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah has termed the Supreme Court verdict on the Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023 as unjustified, saying that the new parliament will take notice of the verdict soon after its formation.

Talking to the media on Friday, he said that it was prerogative of the parliament to form the constitution, not the Supreme Court. "The parliament will decide the next strategy. The elections will be held under the new census," he added.

Former attorney general Irfan Qadir said that the parliament had formed a good law. "The Supreme Court was weakened in the verdict. The judgment is not justified with regard to legal and logic viewpoint," he added.

He said that the two-thirds majority was needed for such legislation.

On the other hand, Barrister Ali Zafar has welcomed SC verdict. "In the light of the verdict, it has become mandatory to hold the elections within 90 days," he added.

He said that only a review can be availed in this case. "The review is not like the appeal and it has limitations," he added.
