Samsam Bukhari likely to take charge as Punjab info minister
LAHORE (92 News) – The government has decided to appoint Samsam Bukhari as new Information Minister of the province after Fayyazul Hassan Chohan tendered his resignation earlier in on Tuesday.
Samsam Bukhari called on Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at Chief Minister’s House and they exchanged views on Chohan’s resignation and his potential replacement.
It was reported that Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar would administer the oath to Bukhari tomorrow (Wednesday). But the final decision would be taken by PM Imran khan and the Punjab chief minister.
Former state minister and Pakistan People’s party (PPP) leader Samsam Bokhari had shifted his allegiance to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2015. He won the provincial assembly seat PP-201 from Sahiwal on the PTI ticket in July 25, 2018 general elections.

Chohan tenders resignation over anti-Hindu remarks
Earlier today, Punjab government spokesperson Dr Shehbaz Gill has confirmed that provincial information and culture minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has tendered resignation from his designation over anti-Hindu remarks.
On the notice of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Fayyazul Chohan was asked to tender his resignation from his post over anti-Hindu remarks. Meanwhile, the provincial information minister resigned from his post.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to act swiftly on the process. Usman Buzdar summoned Fayyazul Hassan Chohan at the Punjab CM’s House and sought explanation on his remarks.
“Such indecent statements against minorities are not acceptable”, PM Khan has reportedly said. The chief minister also asked him to tender his resignation.
