SC once again dismisses PTI chairman's plea for stopping trial of Toshakhana case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court on Wednesday once against rejected the plea of the PTI chairman for stopping trial of the Toshakhana case.

The plea was rejected by the three-member bench.

Justice Yahya Afridi remarked that the SC would hear the case after the verdict announced by the High Court. "The High Court might order to stop the trial on Thursday," he observed.

The court also rejected the plea for issuing a stay order immediately.

On the other hand, the sessions court rejected the PTI chairman's request for summoning four witnesses. The PTI chairman had requested the court to summon witnesses Usman Ali, Qadeer Ahmed, Naveed Farid and Rauf Hassan.

The court has ordered the counsels to present the final arguments by tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) could not indict the PTI chairman for his disappearance. The commission deferred the indictment until August 22.
