ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday stopped the accountability courts from announcing final verdicts in the restored cases.

The court also rejected the plea to suspend the verdict nullifying the NAB amendments. Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the intra-court appeal till the detailed judgment on the SC Practice and Procedure Act.

During the hearing, the court queried that whether all amendments had been nullified in the verdict. The counsel told court that the third amendment was not nullified as it was introduced after the verdict.

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa observed that six hearings were conducted after the introduction of the third amendment. "The court would have declared the amendments null and void had it wanted to do so," he ruled.

Justice Athar Minallah remarked that how the first and second amendments can be nullified without reviewing the third one.

The court issued notices to all parties including the attorney general. The court also ordered to provide the PTI chairman with the copies of the appeals and court orders in jail.
